Internationally recognized as one of the greatest photographers of his time, Kennerly has photographed politics and world events for four decades, including eight presidential campaigns. Kennerly is a contributing editor to Newsweek and was a contributing photographer to Time and Life magazines. Throughout his career, Kennerly covered assignments in more than 130 countries, and his work has appeared on the covers of publications around the globe. In 1972, Kennerly won the Pulitzer Prize for his Vietnam War photographs.

His work is a strong complement to our current news and archival image offerings, which is the largest digital archive in the world.î
Kennerly has photographed some of the most famous political leaders of his time, including Fidel Castro, Anwar Sadat, Generalissimo Franco, Queen Elizabeth, Mikhail Gorbachev, Colin Powell, and the past six U.S. presidents. Kennerly served as President Gerald Fordís White House Photographer and accompanied him to 46 states and 17 countries, including his historic visits to Japan and the Soviet Union.
ìGetty Images has a passion for photography and understands the power of visual communications in portraying the news of the day and telling the worldís history,î said Kennerly. ìI am proud to have Getty Images represent my image archive, and look forward to utilizing the companyís global reach to further expand the extent of my work.î
