American Photo Top 100
American Photo magazine reveals "The 100 Most Important People in Photography" in their May/June issue, on sale on April 19. This important list that has its pulse on where photography, one of this country's favorite pastimes, is heading and who is taking it there.
Famed photographers Annie Leibovitz, David Hume Kennerly, Harry Benson, Patrick Demarchelier, Terry Richardson, and David LaChapelle, along with editors, artists, dealers, and publishers grace the list. The coveted "Number One" title this year is neither a photographer nor an icon, but two people who have changed photography profoundly. Mark Getty and Jonathan Klein, who head Getty Images, the world's leading imagery company and the most dynamic agent of change in the photographic industry today, grab the gold this year.
