Kennerly Partners with Tajima to create the Corporate Culture/Brand Photographic Library for Washington Mutual

Partnering with Elaine Tajima’s strategic design and marketing group, Tajima Creative, Kennerly is nearing completion of a photographic library project for Washington Mutual.  Prints from this collection of images created by Kennerly throughout 2005, highlighting WAMU’s distinct brand and corporate culture, will decorate Washington Mutual’s new corporate headquarters in Seattle. The library will also be used to reinforce the company’s key values and brand attributes through corporate communication vehicles.  Kennerly and Tajima have worked together in the past on Washington Mutual’s “Home of the Free Student Photojournalism Project,” a combination student outreach program and photojournalism competition which was judged by some of the nation’s top photo editors.

Kennerly Joins NBC News

NEW YORK, NY – March 16, 2006 - - David Hume Kennerly has been named NBC News Contributing Editor, effective immediately. The announcement was made today by NBC News President Steve Capus.

In his role at NBC, Kennerly will provide special still-photo essays on a variety of topics for NBC News, MSNBC, CNBC, MSNBC.com, Telemundo, and all other NBC Universal outlets. Kennerly concluded a ten-year run as Contributing Editor for Newsweek Magazine earlier this year, and is now set to deliver his special brand of documentary photography to network television. "Still photography and television are the perfect visual match," Kennerly says, "combining the two conveys a depth and excitement beyond what you see in today’s print publications. My career has been built on taking pictures behind the scenes of history where television cameras are rarely allowed, and now I’m thrilled about the chance to bring those kind of images exclusively to NBC’s viewers."
