Unpublished Kennerly

Our latest offering is previously unpublished work from the David Hume Kennerly archives. The work spans several countries, including North Korea, Morocco, El Salvador, China, Russia, and Vietnam. It also bridges the spectrum of events from a space launch at Cape Kennedy, to a look inside the smoldering volcano that is Mt. St. Helens, and a front row seat in Tienanmen Square in Beijing for the 50th Anniversary celebration of the People's Republic of China. These photos are just the tip of the iceberg of the thousands contained in Kennerly's photographic collection.

Under Fire: Great Photographers and Writers in Vietnam

Under Fire: Great Photographers and Writes in Vietnam

“Under Fire: Great Photographers and Writers in Vietnam”, just published by Random House, was edited and compiled by Catherine Leroy, with an introduction by Senator John McCain, and features the work of David Hume Kennerly and 15 of his colleagues who covered the war in Vietnam. The text accompanying the photographs is written by top writers, including Joe Galloway, David Halberstam, Philip Caputo, and Neil Sheehan. Under Fire is a potent, poignant, reminder of the men and women whose work helped forge the collective memory of a generation.

American Photo Magazine
